What does it do?

Aperio Slide scanner from Leica allows for high throughput scanning of histology slides. This will enable researchers to capture all analyses on a given tissue, such as human cancer slices, for in depth-analysis.

How will it help?

The advanced scanner will make a significant difference to the current work flow because it is fully automated and can be run overnight. This allows for improved efficiency, less down time and gives researchers more time for research activities that can’t be automated.

It will also enable researchers to analyse more aspects of a particular cancer, all on one single slice of tissue. This instrument can be used for all cancer tissue. The more we know about the cancer and its supporting cells, the better we can design specific therapies.
