Dr Andrew Woo
Dr Andrew J. Woo completed his Bachelor of Science with Honours and a Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry at The University of Western Australia in 2004. He then began his postdoctoral training under Dr. Alan B. Cantor’s mentorship at Children’s Hospital Boston / Dana-Faber Cancer Institute at Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. Transcriptional gene regulation is the focus of his research and his discoveries contributed to the study of blood disorders, cancer and stem cell biology. He has published in many prestigious journals including, Cell, Journal of Clinical Investigation, Molecular Cell, Genes and Development, Nature Communications, Blood and Molecular & Cellular Biology. He has returned to Perth in 2012 with a fellowship from Royal Perth Hospital Medical Research Foundation.
