The Kirkbride Melanoma Centre

Kirkbride Melanoma Centre Kirkbride

The Kirkbride Melanoma Centre is based within the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. Both are dedicated to improving the health of the community through vital research.

The Kirkbride Centre was established following the death of Scott Kirkbride whose life was cut short by melanoma when he was just 27 years old.

The mission of the Centre is to establish Western Australia as a world leader in basic and clinical melanoma research by providing crucial breakthroughs for improved diagnosis and treatment of melanoma.

Ongoing fundraising efforts by Scott’s family, friends and generous donors allow dedicated scientists at the Perkins to investigate solutions into this potentially life-threatening skin cancer.
