The Fred Luizzi Foundation Neuromuscular Scholarship
The Fred Liuzzi Foundation is working to reduce the impact of Rare Neuromuscular Disease on the Australian community. The Foundation has awarded a prestigious three year PhD Scholarship valued at up to $40,000 per annum for a suitable candidate interested in researching the genetics, pathology and pathomechanisms of neuromuscular diseases. Eligible students will possess an appropriate undergraduate degree (BSc. or MBBS with Honours).
This PhD project has strong links with Victoria and as such travel to Victoria to complete aspects of the project may be required. The project will be supervised by Prof Nigel Laing and Dr Gianina (Gina) Ravenscroft.

Perkins Student Vacation Research Scholarships
Perkins invites applications for Vacation Scholarships for the Summer of 2018-2019. The purpose of the scholarship is to enable a student to carry out research within the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. These scholarships are particularly valuable for students considering postgraduate research degrees. It is expected that the projects will last for at least 6 weeks. It is a condition of receiving a Perkins Vacation Scholarship that the successful applicant provide a short written report of the result of the scholarship and give a 10 minute seminar on the project in February 2018, along with the other successful applicants. There are eight Perkins Vacation Scholarships available valued at $2,500 each.
Applications must be submitted by 5pm on the 5th October 2018.
Successful applicants will be notified by early November 2018.
