Throughout April, staff of the 20 Perth Radiological Clinics in Perth will be promoting the partnership between the Perth Radiological Clinic’s Foundation and the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
Staff will raise funds for the Foundation and the Perkins by participating the “Steps Towards Better Health” initiative.
For a donation of $10, Perth Rad staff will be supplied with a pedometer to track how many steps they take during the month.
PerthRadClinic Foundation Chairman, Dr Martin Blake, is one of the staff who has adopted the pedometer for the month. He said that the PerthRadClinic Foundation had been established to foster improvement in social and healthcare outcomes for the Western Australian community by supporting innovation in medicine, health education, community programs, and staff participation in charitable activities.
The Perkins is grateful for the strong partnership between the two organisations. The PerthRadClinic Foundation also supports the employment of radiologist and nuclear medicine specialist, Dr Liesl Celliers, whose work at the Perkins aims to fast-track cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
