Your gift is something we never take for granted and it is important that we are open and honest with you. If you have any questions or feedback about this policy, please do let us know.
Allocation of gifts policy
We know that when you make a specific gift to the Perkins it is because you have a personal hope or desire for what your contribution will achieve. Before making a specific donation, please ensure you have read and understood the following:
Research at the Perkins is constantly evolving and changing as our discoveries take us down new and exciting paths, or as the needs of our community change. As a result, we strive to be flexible in our focus.
Perkins labs are split into research approaches and not disease types. This can mean, for example, that one lab could focus on cancer but each researcher may work on a project with potential benefits for one or more different types of cancer.
A core value of the Perkins is collaboration. We always work as efficiently as we can, in terms of the time and money we spend. This means that our researchers often share equipment, lab space and other costs.
We will make every endeavour to ensure your gift supports the disease you have specified or a close alternative that we deem reasonable given the information you provide. If you feel your wishes may not be met under this policy and our acceptance of your gift is conditional upon specific conditions being met, please get in touch with us to discuss your request(s) in detail.
Gifts designated to the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research mean that they can be allocated to the area with the greatest need.

Thank you for supporting the Perkins. This policy has been put in place to ensure we can maintain our promise to you.
